EN 14058 : 2004

Protection against cool environments

Cool climate is an environment generally characterized by a possible combination of moist and wind conditions and a temperature of -5°C and more. This standard defines the performance requirements of simple clothing items for the protection of the body against these climates.

The performances of the EN 14058: 2004 standard are distributed between the four levels of requirements as follows:
• Thermal resistance: class 1 to 3 depending on the thermal resistance in m²K/W
• Permeability to air: class 1 to 3 depending on the diffusion of air in mm/s (optional)
• Resistance to penetration of water (optional): class 1 or 2.
• Thermal insulation (optional)
